Radar Based Flow and Water Level Forecasting in Sewer Systems – a Danish Case Study
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper describes the first radar based forecast of flow and/or water level in sewer systems in Denmark. The rainfall is successfully forecasted with a lead time of 1-2 hours, and flow/levels are forecasted an additional 1⁄2-11⁄2 hours using models describing the behaviour of the sewer system. Both radar data and flow/water level model are continuously updated using online rain gauges and online in-sewer measurements, in order to make the best possible predictions. The project show very promising results, and show large potentials, exploiting the existing water infrastructure in future climate changes

Experimental Results of Pressure Fluctuations in a Water Conduit Section Due to Formation of Unstable Two-Phase Air-Water Flow
The study of two-phase fluid flow behavior in hydraulic structures such as pressurized flow tunnels, culverts, sewer pipes, junctions and other similar conduits is of great importance. A two-phase mixture flowing in a pipe can exhibit several interfacial geometries such as bubbles, slugs or films, depending on the fluid and hydrodynamic properties of flow. The main variables, giving rise to a v...

متن کاملFlow Forecasting using Deterministic Updating of Water Levels in Distributed Hydrodynamic Urban Drainage Models
There is a growing requirement to generate more precise model simulations and forecasts of flows in urban drainage systems in both offline and online situations. Data assimilation tools are hence needed to make it possible to include system measurements in distributed, physically-based urban drainage models and reduce a number of unavoidable discrepancies between the model and reality. The latt...
متن کاملForecasting of Groundwater Table and Water Budget under Different Drought Scenarios using MODFLOW Model (Case Study: Garbaygan Plain, Fars Province, Iran)
Groundwater drought is a natural hazard that develops when groundwater systems are affected by climatical drought, when climatical drought occures, first groundwater recharge, later groundwater levels and groundwater discharge decrease. The origin of drought is a deficit in precipitation and that takes place in all the elements that comprise the hydrological cycle (flow in the rivers, soil mois...
متن کاملForecasting flow discharge through time series analysis using SARIMA model for drought conditions, a case study of Jamishan River
Nowadays, water supply is more limited and providing water is more difficult due to increasing population and demand for water. Thus, due to rainfall shortage and impacts of drought, the need for forecasting monthly and annual rainfall and flow discharge through time series analysis is acutely felt. One of the key assumption in time series is their static condition. However, hydrological time s...
